Learn to Square Dance

     Hanger Squares in Friendswood will be offering square dancing lessons on Saturday nights from 6:30-8:00 beginning in January.   On January 14th & 21st we will have free Fun Nights where perspective dancers can get a feel for the fun and fellowship that comes with square dancing.   Meet with us at 6:30 PM for a sample class experience.

      Formal lessons will begin January 28th and continue through May 19th. The lessons are $10 per month per person.  This is for single and couples, teens and adults.  Teens dance for free if accompanied by participating adults.

      Our Club Caller, Garland Smith, is the instructor for our lessons.   Garland's style insures that you will enjoy the classes, and that you will learn how to dance well.

      Experienced dancers participate in each dance lesson as "Angels" to the new dancers.  These Angels will be available to fill in as partners for new dancers when needed, and may participate as extra couples to complete a square.

      The Angels are also mentors who may sit with the new dancers between Square Dance Tips, handle introductions, answer questions, and in general help to make the newcomer feel comfortable and at ease with the group.
